I remember the first day I met Avaneesh. He played half of Tokyo Ghoul's title track 'Unravel' for me. And even though he played well, the missing ingredient in his performance was the tempo. Avaneesh played his song with a lot of pauses, slow transitions, and a non-uniform pace. So, my no. 1 priority with Avaneesh has been uniformity in tempo.
Avaneesh has improved tremendously since that day. He is extremely hard-working. He listens to everything I tell him. And he incorporates all my teachings. Playing with the metronome has been extremely difficult for him, but he has never given up. He has mastered quarter notes, but playing Eights and other strumming patterns is still difficult for him. But, it's only been 4 months and he has already finished his video. Imagine what he's going to achieve if he continues training for a year or two.
Although by the time we finished this video, Avaneesh has been terribly bored with the song. And I never liked the song to begin with because the lyrics and vocal style is unappealing to me. However, we have performed the song as best as we could and I hope you like it.
